Ottawa Race Weekend heats up with marathon

Despite unseasonably high temperatures, runners took part in the annual Ottawa Marathon. The race started at 7 a.m. on Elgin Street and snaked through 42 kilometres of Ottawa and Gatineau. Dino Sefir of Ethiopia crossed the finish line on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway at a time of 2:08:14 to claim first place for the men’s marathon. First place in the women’s marathon was claimed by Koren Jelela of Ethiopia with a time of 2:27:06.
